Steve B. Levine  DVM is an exclusively equine veterinary practitioner. He graduated from Cornell University with a BS in animal science in 1973 and a DVM degree in 1977. After graduation Dr. Levine completed an internship in large animal medicine and surgery at Cornell followed by a two year residency in equine surgery at the University of California at Davis. In 1980 he went to work as a clinician and surgeon at the Rochester Equine Clinic in Rochester, NH. After leaving REC, Dr. Levine started his own equine practice, Burlington Equine, in Burlington Vermont. After 17 years at Burlington Equine he and his wife, Elaine, moved to the "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont and started another equine practice called Northern Equine. Dr. Levine continues to practice strictly equine, ambulatory veterinary medicine. In addition to clinical practice he has been an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Vermont teaching undergraduate courses in horse health and disease (ASCI 117) and general animal health (ASCI 118) since 1985.
